How much are Twitch bits worth? Bits to USD

A bit is worth one US cent to the streamer, so 1,000 bits is $10.00. Fans pay about $1.40 per 100 bits, less in larger bundles. Convert any amount both ways below.

Rates checked: 1 Nov 2026

Twitch bits are worth $0.01 each to the streamer: 100 bits cheered is $1.00 in the channel’s balance. Fans pay more than that to buy them, about $0.01 per bit in the smallest bundle, so 100 bits costs roughly $1.40 and larger bundles bring the price per bit down. How much are Twitch bits worth?

Bits are Twitch’s virtual tipping currency. A viewer buys them with real money, then “cheers” them in chat; the streamer receives one cent per bit regardless of what the viewer paid. That one-cent rate is the same for Affiliates and Partners and does not change with the Plus Program, which only affects subs. The gap between the purchase price and the one-cent payout is Twitch’s cut plus the cost of the app store or card processing.

Bits to USD: bundle prices

Twitch sells bits in fixed bundles. The web prices below have been stable for several years, and the per-bit discount grows with the bundle size, from 5% off the 100-bit rate at 1,500 bits to 12% off at 25,000. Buying inside the iOS or Android app usually costs more because the app store takes its own fee.

Bundle Fan pays (web, US) Price per bit Streamer receives Share to streamer
100 bits $1.40 $0.0140 $1.00 71%
500 bits $7.00 $0.0140 $5.00 71%
1,500 bits $19.95 $0.0133 $15.00 75%
5,000 bits $64.40 $0.0129 $50.00 78%
10,000 bits $126.00 $0.0126 $100.00 79%
25,000 bits $308.00 $0.0123 $250.00 81%

Twitch has run periodic bit sales and offers small amounts of free bits for watching ads or completing surveys in some regions, which is why the effective price a fan pays can fall below the table. The streamer’s cent per bit does not change in either case.

Cheermotes

Cheering is done by typing “cheer” followed by a number in chat, for example “cheer100”. The amount is rendered as an animated cheermote whose colour steps up at 1, 100, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 100,000 bits. Partners can upload custom cheermotes, and streamers can set a minimum cheer, for example 50 bits, so that one-bit messages do not clutter chat. Many channels also attach bits to extensions, polls and sound alerts, which is where most non-sub bit spending now happens.

Bits vs subs for the creator

Per dollar spent by a fan, bits pay the streamer more than a sub. A fan who spends $5.99 on a Tier 1 sub generates about $3.00 for the channel; the same fan spending $7.00 on 500 bits generates $5.00. Measured as a share of what the fan hands over, bits return 71% to 81% against 50% for a standard sub.

Subs win on predictability because they renew monthly, and they unlock Plus Points, which bits do not. A streamer who wants to compare the two side by side can plug the same dollar figure into the sub calculator and this page.

Payout and taxes

Bit revenue is added to the same monthly payout as subs and ads and is paid once the balance crosses Twitch’s minimum, which has been $50 for most methods since 2022 ($100 for wire transfers). The one-cent rate is before income tax, and bits bought in other currencies still pay out at one US cent each. Common questions

How much are Twitch bits worth?

Streamers receive $0.01 per bit cheered, so 100 bits is $1.00 and 1,000 bits is $10.00. Fans pay about $1.40 per 100 bits on the web, with cheaper per-bit rates in bigger bundles.

How much is 1,000 bits on Twitch?

1,000 bits is worth $10.00 to the streamer. A fan buying 1,000 bits pays roughly $14.00 at the 100-bit rate, or less by buying a 1,500-bit bundle for $19.95.

How much does Twitch take from bits?

Twitch keeps the difference between the bundle price and one cent per bit. That is about 29% on a 100-bit bundle ($1.40) and about 19% on a 25,000-bit bundle ($308).

Are bits or subs better for the streamer?

Per dollar the fan spends, bits pay more: 71% to 81% reaches the streamer against 50% from a standard sub. Subs renew monthly and count toward the Plus Program, so they are better for predictable income.

Do bits convert at the same rate in every country?

Yes. Streamers receive one US cent per bit regardless of the currency the fan paid in or the bundle they chose.
